Climate Change

Human Activities  which have a significant impact on the climate are the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, whether in homes, factories, vehicles or in other ways.

Burning these fuels releases Carbon dioxide gas, a greenhouse gas, besides others. Since the early 1800‘s when people began burning large amounts of coal and oil, it has increased by nearly 30 % and average global temperature appears to have risen over 10 c. There is a robust consensus that anthropogenic global climate change is occurring. Thus, despite claims sometimes made by some groups that affected by human activities, the scientific community and persuasive. If the history of science teaches anything, is humanity, and no one can be faulted for failing to act on what is not known? But our grandchildren will surely blame us if they find that we understood the reality of anthropogenic climate change and failed to do anything about it.

Such a temperature will cause changes in the amount and pattern of rain and snow, in the length of the growing seasons, in the frequency and severity of storms, and in the sea level. So, pollution must be controlled to reduce these changes.

Nikitha is asked to write an article for the school magazine on how the generation gap is destroying family life. Using your own ideas write an article on her behalf in 200 words.

THE GENERATION GAP IS DESTROYING FAMILY LIFE

                                                                                                           – BY NIKITHA

Generation Gap means the difference in the attitude or lack of understanding between the younger and older generation. It has been thus since time immemorial, but has only now started seriously affecting family life. The gap seems to have widened to such an extent that old and young people appear to be living under the same roof without having any emotional relationship and parting ways may not be far away.

Elders look after children and make all sorts of sacrifices for them, which instills in them the feeling of having a right over their children’s lives. They expect their children to keep up to their expectations. But opposing the mindset and thoughts of elders today, children demand unrestricted freedom in their thoughts and actions.

Difference of mental situation and lack of understanding among young and old people is called the real generation gap and is very difficult to fill up unless they would not spend time with each other as they are. Generation Gap can be viewed in many terms related to their spoken language, style of clothing and fashion. The main reason behind the generation gap is mainly the lack of time for communication and understanding each other inside the family members. Another reason for generation gap is the increased competition among people in area of education and professional life. This makes people so involved in their own life thus they don’t get time for their loved ones and just make their self, isolated world form others.

Technology in 21st century has been completely changed, compare to what it was in 19th and the strength of understanding and grabbing this new technology is comparably easy for new generation than older. Today’s kids are so smarter and forwarded that they automatically learn to efficiently operate electronic gadgets faster than elders. In fact some time they teach their elders to help them use and operate this new advance technology. The best way for people to overcome generation gap among people of different age groups is to spend their time with each other and try to understand and appreciate others with their own views and morals.

There is definitely a way of bridging the complexities arising in the wake of modernism. It can be out to rest by efforts from both the generations with love, understanding and trust.
